Dr. Jack Penny, 2005 King of the Beach Champion,” has taken care of our teeth for the past 20 years. We have always found his team on 75th Ave. to be very pleasant and professional. Dr. Penny has been slowly cutting back, and when he told me I needed another dental implant; I was not surprised when he said “Dr. Allawnha (pronounced ala-wanna) does those for us now.” Dr. Allawnha is the new owner of Dr. Penny’s practice, and we are really blessed. At a time when the dental industry is more corporate and profit driven than personal care driven, Dr. Allawnha is the opposite.
He has a fascination with the dental field and feels truly blessed to have found his passion in his professional work life. He loves to learn, and thoroughly enjoys remaining up to date on dental techniques and technologies as the field of dentistry progresses.
Dr. Allawnha prioritizes the best interest of his patients and maintains the highest level of integrity in his practice to coincide with his core values. Born in New Orleans, La., Dr. Allawnha grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honors degree at the University of Windsor and was employed afterwards as an Emergency Department Nurse in Detroit, Mich. He then relocated to Morgantown, West Virginia to pursue his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He maintained his employment as an ED nurse until his graduation from dental school. Dr. Allawnha is a warm and compassionate dentist, who genuinely cares about the comfort and happiness of each of his patients. He listens thoroughly and will go to any length to get to the root cause of a patient’s discomfort, or dental issue. His experience as an emergency department nurse has taught him the importance of connecting with his patients, and he has seamlessly integrated this great level of care into his dentistry.
Dr. Allawnha is thrilled to be putting down roots in Pinellas County and becoming more of a part of the beautiful St. Pete Beach community. In his time outside of the office, Dr. Allawnha has many hobbies and interests, and is always enthusiastic about learning and trying new things. He loves to travel, exercise, spend time outdoors, stay updated in technological current events, cook and try new cuisines, and spend time with his wife, family, and friends. Dr. Allawnha looks very forward to assisting all his patients to achieve their happiest and healthiest smiles!
A fun fact about their new name: Century Dental is named after Century High School in Windsor, Ontario, where Dr. Allawnha met his beautiful wife, Lauren. They felt that this name held a special sentimental value for them. Century Dental is a private family owned and completely independent dental practice, specializing in Family Dentistry, along with Cosmetic, Implant, and Laser Dentistry. It is the goal of Dr. Allawnha, Dr. Penny, and the whole Century Dental team to create a dental experience you’ll be happy to remember for the rest of your life, saying “Thank you for putting your trust in us.”
Checking out the online reviews it is easy to see the excellent work on my implant was not an exception. Dr. Allawnha and his team have been racking up 5-star reviews online since his arrival in 2019 and is the best Dental Office on the beach.
