Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse Visits Local Restaurants

rumfish-closed-signAward-winning chef, television host and food icon Emeril Lagasse filmed a segment for his Cooking Channel series “Emeril’s Florida” at Locale Market in downtown St. Petersburg and Rumfish Grill at the Tradewinds Guy Harvey Outpost on St. Pete Beach this May.

The famed chef, known for his New Orleans-based restaurant chain, his line of cooking accessories, his appearances as a judge on “Top Chef” and for his long-running, ground-breaking Food Network series “Emeril Live”, interviewed chef partners Michael Mina and Don Pintabona during the segment at Locale and Chef Justin Harry during the segment at Rumfish.

During the taping at Locale, Lagasse toured the market with  Chef Pintabona, took part in the FarmTable Kitchen  private dining experience, interviewed Chef de Cuisine Jeffrey Hileman about the restaurant’s dry aged beef  and sampled several dishes with Chef Mina from the Locale Market and Locale Wine Bar menus.  Included in Lagasse’s tasting was a dish of Steamed Two Docks Clams with Sausage Pomodoro, a 32-ounce Dry Aged Tomahawk Ribeye for Two, the Faithful Farms Tuscan Kale Salad, the Nitrogen Bon-Bon Ice Cream Sundae and the market’s iconic sandwich, the St. Petersburger.

While at Rumfish, Emeril did a meet and greet with Keith Overton, TradeWinds president, in front of tank with glass of wine. The pair had a discussion about the Tradewinds’ resorts, Rumfish and Rumfish’s tank. Emeril also spent some time with Chef Justin Harry in Rumfish Grill’s kitchen where they discussed the menu and the issue of invasive lionfish. Rumfish Grill and Guy Harvey Outpost will host the second annual Lionfish Safari September 12-13, 2015. For more information visit www.reefmonitoring.org. Emeril’s menu with Chef Justin Harry included Caribbean Ceviche, Cedar Key Oysters, Jerk Lion Fish, Seafood Brochette, and RumFish Island Baba, a rum soaked banana cake with cream cheese mousse and mango gelato. The segment tentatively is scheduled to air in early 2016 during the fourth season of “Emeril’s Florida” on the Cooking Channel.
