The City of Madeira Beach and Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) are reminding residents and visitors to lock their vehicles. In the past two weeks, several cars have been broken into in areas between 140th and 150th Avenues. In each occurrence, items were stolen overnight while the vehicle had been left open. Suspects have taken items including cash, cell phones, GPS devices, and other items. Tips to help prevent becoming a victim include:
- Always lock your vehicle
- Never leave valuables (purse, wallet, cell phone, etc.) in sight
- Park in a well-lit area whenever possible
- Be aware of your surroundings
- See something, say something
A security camera image of the suspect can be seen below. If you know this person or have seen someone fitting their description, please call the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office at 727-582-6200.
