A very busy 4th of July weekend for nesting birds is right around the corner.
Beach nesting birds rely on people like you to make it through nesting season. Being a steward includes monitoring nesting sites, collecting data, and making connections with the public. Education is one of the most effective tools we have to not only protect birds but inspire others to help!
Fourth of July weekend comes with challenges on the beach where some birds go to lay their eggs and raise their young. It is the time in the nesting season when chicks are running around but still need protection from their parents, leaving them vulnerable if separated. If you are interested in stewarding this upcoming holiday weekend, Fort De Soto, Indian Shores, and St. Pete Beach need your help!
