MORE THAN ART IN STONE
If you are looking for a gift or an addition to your outdoor lifestyle that won’t float away in the next storm, stop into the Art Stone Co. on the east side of Tyrone, across from the mall. They make concrete table and bench sets, with or without umbrellas, some with custom tile insets, plus concrete bird baths, statuary, fountains, urns and more, all of which has proven durable passing the test of time. The Polen family has been in the business for four generations.
What you cannot see from the road is one of the most beautiful assortments of orchids and cacti in the entire bay area. If you are an orchid fan, you can see Paula and David Polen and the Art Stone Co. at two shows at the Seminole Recreation Center this month. On Saturday, Jan. 11, 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-4pm, you can attend the orchids and Ariods Festival. Two weeks later at the same venue, Florida West Coast Orchid Society presents their annual show and sale.
This year’s theme is “Rainbow of Orchids” on Jan. 25-26 from 10am-4pm both days. The show and sale will be at the Seminole Recreation Center 9100 113th St. N, Seminole. Admission will be $5 each. Parking is free. Come and see all the beautiful orchid blossoms and displays plus plants for sale. For info online visit www.FWCOS.org or call 727-475-0750.
There is no admission fee for viewing the beautiful assortment for sale everyday at the company’s yard on Tyrone. David and Paula are still cleaning up after the hurricane did a number on some of the shade structures on the property, but say that none of the art stone on display moved an inch in the storms. See their website online at www.artstoneco.com.
They prefer to deliver and setup all the larger, heavier items, to ensure your complete satisfaction. Tell them you read about them in Paradise News.
