5 Ways to Enjoy Mother’s Day Weekend

1- Call Mom!
In case you forgot, this Sunday, May 10th is Mother’s Day. You can still order local flowers from Lou’s Florist in South Pasadena. You can also order her takeout or delivery from her favorite local restaurant. Order her fresh local produce for pick up from St. Petersburg Saturday Morning Market here (pick up will be next Saturday). Or just giver her a call.

2- Go to the Beach
Our beaches are open and boy did we missed them! If you go to the beach please remember to practice all social distancing guidelines as well as do your part to leave our beaches better than you found them. Learn more about Phase 1 re-openings here

3- Visit a Pinellas County Park
Sand Key Park, Fred Howard Park, and Fort De Soto Park are now open including includes beach and umbrella rentals, equipment rentals, and food concessions, but excluding public playgrounds & picnic shelters. Whether is photographing local wildlife, biking, kayaking or just basking in the Florida sunshine, enjoy our beautiful parks while practicing safe social distancing. Info

4-  Keep on Gardening
If you’ve got the space, get outside and make the most of it! Whether you are starting seeds, planting flowers or harvesting, the sunshine and dirt on your hands will do your spirit good. Check out Nanette Wiser’s suggestions for gardening in Pinellas County in the May issue of Paradise News or online here.

5- Donate Locally
While things are opening up and giving us all hope, there are many still in need in our community. South Pasadena just launched their Cereal for Summer virtual campaign. You can learn more about it here. Multiple locations across Pinellas County are also accepting donation for PPE and food. See where you can donate here. Additionally, all the local non-profits you have always supported still need your support.
