This dynamic, fun and locally run beach volleyball tournament and beach party is this year’s biggest NYE extravaganza! We’re ringing in the new year Beach Bums style from Dec 29th – Jan 1st at the beautiful Bilmar Beach Resort, located right on sunny Florida’s Treasure Island.

Tourney Registration: Beach Bums Bowl II 

We are expecting over 200 teams at this year’s event. Players already confirmed for the Beach Bums Bowl II are coming from California, Texas, Minnesota, North Carolina, Chicago, Ohio, Baltimore, New Orleans, Atlanta and all over Florida! This year’s Beach Bums Bowl II has nearly $6K in prize money to hand out. Guaranteed cash payouts are one of the reasons the Beach Bums now brings Olympic, International & professional level volleyball consistently to Pinellas County.

Last year players representing Brazil, Serbia, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland all traveled to compete in a least one Beach Bums event. 

Recent example: 23 of the p1440 Huntington Beach main draw professional players competed in a Beach Bums tourney in Florida in 2018, including:

  • p1440 Young Guns men’s winner Alvaro Filho
  • p1440 Young Guns women’s winners Katie Hogan & Milena Matic
  • p1440 Top Guns men’s winner Ricardo Santos (3-time Brazilian Olympic Medalist) & many more!

Pro players already registered for Beach Bums Bowl II include Kim Hildreth (2017 champion, NVL Long Beach), Bree Scarborough (2018 champion, FIVB 1* Jinjiang, China), John-Michael Plummer (2016 NVL Fan Favorite & Breakthrough Athlete) and Djordje Klasnic (FIVB Serbia) At least 10 registered players competed in the main draw of one of the major tours in 2018 (FIVB, p1440, AVP). A collection of under-18 up & coming stars are competing toe-to-toe with the adult pros as well, including Erin Murphy (committed to FSU), Adam Hartmann, Dylan Zacca, Eric Winn & John Ziska.  Outside of California, there have been only two(2) p1440 events –– and both were brought to you by the Beach Bums! But we’re not ready to stop there! Kerri Walsh is transforming the player experience via p1440 (platform 1440) with soulful, entertaining events focused on player development, with health and wellness in mind.

All Beach Bums tourneys support charities and this one is no different with raffles and profit-share supporting both Big Brothers Big Sisters and the City of Treasure Island’s summer camps. The inclusive Bums group works to grow the sport of beach volleyball by bringing together players of all levels (from recreational to professional) and affiliations (including AVP America, p1440 & USAV). Already one of the lowest-priced national tours, Bums encourage recreational and newbie players to give beach volleyball a try via “Free-B” program providing any “B” (rec) level player their first team entry FREE! Tournaments are also free to watch for spectators.
