The annual Citizens’ Police Academy, organized by the Gulfport Police Department, commences on January 18th and concludes with a graduation ceremony on Saturday, March 30, coinciding with Fun in the Sun Day and a cookout.
These weekly classes occur every Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Participants have the unique chance to gain insights and firsthand experiences into the daily activities of Gulfport police officers and department staff as they deliver police services to the community. The curriculum incorporates a blend of hands-on field trips and traditional classroom sessions.

Applicants must be over the age of 16 and pass a background investigation. Please apply early as there are only limited spots available and they fill up quickly. Preference given to Gulfport residents. Application deadline is January 5, 2024.
