‘100 Women Who Care’ presents $11,600 to lotz of blessings

100 Women Who Care of Pinellas County presented Lotz of Blessings with a donation of $11,600 on June 16, 2020. The charity also received a $5,000 matching gift from the Richard M. Schulze Foundation. Lotz of Blessings’ mission is to inspire families to work together to help others within the community. They do this through many projects, including partnering with the Pack-a-Snack program in Pinellas County where they pack 8-10 non-perishable items for kids to eat over the weekend. They also began placing Blessing Boxes around the Pinellas County community in order to support neighbors who may need assistance. Anyone is welcome to stop by and take what you need, or leave what you can. Lotz of Blessings also encourages kids to get involved through the Project Kind Kids initiative, which includes events throughout the year where kids work together to come up with ideas that together help change the community.

100 Women Who Care of Pinellas County is a philanthropic group that provides an avenue for women to join together to bring financial support to local, charitable organizations that have a 501(c)(3) status. Members commit to attending four meetings per year (one per quarter) and pledge to donate $100 to an elected charity at each meeting. The members have the opportunity to nominate any organization, three of the nominated organizations are then randomly selected to give a 5-minute presentation, a vote is taken, and then checks are written directly to the winning charity. Since February of 2013, the group has given $265,400 to local charities. The next meeting is 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18th, at Cove Cay Golf Club, located at 2612 Cove Cay Drive in Clearwater. There is a social time from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Cove Cay restaurant, where drinks and snacks may be purchased. Contact Brenda George at 727-515-1868 for more information.
