Directions for Living offers hope, recovery and compassion while restoring each person’s dignity and quality of life. In coordination with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Child Protection Investigation Division, Family Works is Pinellas County’s Diversion Services program for families who are at high risk for entering the Child Welfare System. Through this program, Directions for Living provides and coordinates resources for families in need, wraps them in the care they require, and helps avoid unnecessarily removing children from their home in order to preserve families. 100 Women Who Care of Pinellas County is a philanthropic group that provides an avenue for women to join together to bring financial support to local, charitable organizations. Members commit to attending four meetings per year (one per quarter) and pledge to donate $100 to an elected charity at each meeting. The members have the opportunity to nominate any organization, and then a vote is taken. The goal is to have 100 or more members! The next meeting is 7:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 17th at 4000 Gateway Centre Blvd., Suite 200 in Pinellas Park. There is a social time from 6:00-7:00 pm with drinks and snacks. Since February of 2013, we have given $83,700 to local organizations.
